My Intentions and Therapy

I’m honored to be with you today! My intentions here at “Roots to Nutrition” is to leave you better than when you first arrived here. The goal is to leave you knowing that you can trust in your ability to regain health in a sustainable way. I will guide and encourage you towards making lifestyle choices that promote your peak wellness.

Many of us are feeling disempowered about our health and disenchanted with contemporary medicine. My belief is that there are many forms of powerful medicine available to us and many of them have been around for thousands of years. I also believe there is a need to respect each of these various models of medicine, with an understanding that they complement each other.

I practice “Nutritional Therapy” which is science-based holistic approach to wellness rooted in the philosophy that the health problems of today’s society are the result of poor nutrition in the body. My philosophy has always been “prevention” and this preventative, natural form of health care addresses the fundamental causes of health concerns rather than the symptoms alone. I will tap into the body to see if your body is needing support in the area of neuroendocrine, digestion, or filtration and drainage. You may already be eating a very appropriate diet, but if your are not eliminating, digesting properly or if you have had trauma of any kind in your life present or past, then you are in a state of stress, and you may not be getting what you need from your food.

Nutritional Therapy educates and empowers you to take control of your health. The body’s inner wisdom allows it to know exactly what it needs and how to adapt to its environment in order to function best. The best gift you can give yourself is listening to this inner wisdom and I will help guide you to do that.

Optimal health is built on the biochemical foundations of a properly functioning neuroendocrine system, digestion system, mineral balance, appropriate fatty acid balance, sufficient hydration and most importantly the ability to remove daily toxins through its elimination organs. Once the body has the support then the body is able to move to a cleaning out (detoxifying) and renewing state. With Nutritional Therapy and as a BioEnergetic Practitioner we have the ability to detect and correct underlying dysfunctions by addressing weaknesses in any of these foundations. Utilizing nutritional assessments, refining what nutrition works best for you, at this time, homeopathic and dietary supplements along with lifestyle changes, a personalized program is developed for you.

Core Nutrition Beliefs:

  1. Eat mostly local, seasonal, organic, fresh foods
  2. Eat meat that is humanely raised, grass-fed, pasture raised, organic
  3. Eat whole, unrefined, unprocessed, unpackaged foods
  4. Eat foods that are properly prepared to enhance their nutritional content and digestibility
  5. Make your own foods at home, it’s fun and creative and you are in control
  6. Diets are not to be about deprivation but always about nourishment, balance and individual needs.

What does a Nutritional Therapist do?

Nutritional Therapist do not diagnose or treat medical conditions, but instead support the root issues in the tissues of the body, in order to help it function in it’s natural state. After an analysis of your health information that we have gathered together, reviewing the nutritional assessments, and tapping into the body we will develop a practical nutritional and lifestyle plan that fits your needs; changes that are individually tailored to correct the deficiencies in your body and, accordingly, restore balance and improve health.
